This international singing competition—created and owned by Dutch company, Talpa—is brought to you and produced by mm2 Entertainment (Singapore and Malaysia’s leading entertainment company) together with Astro (Malaysia’s leading digital media group) and StarHub (Singapore’s first fully integrated info-communication company). It will be broadcasted on Astro’s AEC Channel and StarHub’s Hub E City Channel.
UX plays a big role on this website—as the website needs to be straightforward and user-friendly enough for users to submit their audition videos. We planned out the content architecture and divided the form into several steps. This is to ensure that users will have a good journey while submitting their audition video either with:
Due to the popularity of the show, we foresee that there will be a lot of visitors to the website. Aside from browsing visitors, the web-server for this project must able to handle the traffic of form submissions & video files (audition).
Digital Ocean is our best choice for this project as it allows us to set up and customise the server capacity. We had also installed several media encoding software in the server in order to allow the server to optimise, resize and back up the submitted audition videos in background.
